La riserva naturale Wald presso Haus Burlo si trova nel comune di Rosendahl nel distretto di Coesfeld in Renania Settentrionale-Vestfalia.
L'area di circa 223,3 ettari, che è stata messa sotto protezione nel 2003, si estende a nord-ovest di Darfeld, una frazione del comune di Rosendahl. Attraverso il bosco passa il Paoters Pättken, un sentiero secolare, lungo il quale i monaci del monastero Kleinburlo, situato ai margini del bosco, raggiungevano Darfeld.[1] Gli edifici del monastero sono oggi in gran parte demoliti, mentre alcuni pochi edifici secondari, tra cui il birrificio e un ex mulino ad acqua, sono ancora conservati. A ovest del bosco di Burlo scorre il Burloer Bach verso il mulino del monastero e sfocia pochi chilometri più a valle nella Vechte. A est del bosco di Burlo passa la strada statale L 580 e a sud la L 555.
