Reichenbach è il capoluogo del comune di Lautertal nel circondario di Bergstraße in Assia e il suo frazione più grande per numero di abitanti. Si trova a 50 chilometri a sud di Francoforte sul Meno e a 33 chilometri a nord di Heidelberg.
Reichenbach si trova al centro della parte alta della valle della Lauter nell'Odenwald. È nato come un villaggio compatto in una posizione di valle unilaterale. Nella località confluiscono da sinistra il Reichenbach e da nord il Graulbach insieme al Felsbach nella Lauter. A nord il territorio include il Felsenmeer, che si estende sul versante sud-est boscoso del Felsberg alto 514 metri. A ovest il territorio si estende fino al "Teufelsberg", davanti al quale si trova il monumento naturale "Borstein" e a sud-est fino all'Hohenstein. La torre Ohly, costruita nel 1901 sul Felsberg, è il punto più alto del territorio di Reichenbach.
