Iruña-Veleia è il nome di un sito archeologico situato nel comune di Iruña de Oca[1] a circa 10 km a ovest della città di Vitoria in Álava, Paese Basco, corrispondente all'antica città romana di Veleia. È considerata la città più importante dei carieti o caristii. Il complesso archeologico di Iruña-Veleia, popolarmente conosciuto fin dal secolo scorso come l'oppidum di Iruña, ospita i resti dell'epoca romana più significativi della provincia di Álava e di tutto il Paese Basco. Oltre al suo passato romano conserva importanti evidenze della fase preromana. Durante il medioevo si installò nel suo terreno il priorato di Nostra Signora di Iruña, dell'Ordine di San Giovanni, dipendente dall'Encomienda di Burgos e Buradón.
