Il Paraje Naturale Comunale dell'Arenal del Almortxó, con una superficie di 50,80 ha, si trova nel comune di Petrel nella provincia di Alicante, nel Monte di Utilità Pubblica denominato "Cotxines".
Si distingue principalmente per la sua geomorfologia e litologia. Si tratta di una formazione dunale tipica delle zone costiere, situata all'interno, caratterizzata dalla presenza di suoli, flora e fauna propri degli ecosistemi dunali costieri.
