La Plaza Mayor José González de Bornos si trova nel centro della città.
Una statua su un alto piedistallo è il fulcro di questo bellissimo spazio urbano. La zona centrale è pedonale e presenta tre facciate principali con panchine in ferro e palme e aranci.
Questa piazza, fiancheggiata da edifici a due piani, alcuni con interessanti elementi architettonici (porte, balconi...), ospita alcuni dei monumenti più emblematici e importanti della città , come il castello-palazzo della famiglia Ribera, sede municipale chiesa di Sant Domingo e il municipio stesso. Un'ampia scala a cinque gradini e rampe laterali collega l'interno dell'edificio al livello della piazza.
