Questa scultura di Francisco Buiza è una perfetta rappresentazione della sigaretta e della donna attiva dell'epoca.

Le sigaraie rappresentano un gruppo specifico di donne dedite alla lavorazione del tabacco , in particolare nel XIX e all'inizio del XX secolo.

Questa professione, oggi estinta, rivestiva particolare importanza in Andalusia, soprattutto nella città di Siviglia, per il gran numero di donne che vi lavoravano all'epoca, sebbene fosse importante, anche se in misura minore, nella città di Cadice.
