La Penya Flamenca La Perla de Cádiz è un punto di riferimento per il flamenco a Cadice sin dalla sua apertura nel 1979, pochi anni dopo la morte della proprietaria del Penya, Antonia Gilabert Vargas (Cadice, 1924-1975).
Durante questi decenni, questa associazione, che rende omaggio al cantante gitano, è stata una delle più attive nella produzione e organizzazione di spettacoli di flamenco nella capitale, Cadice.
Tra le tante attività che organizzano ci sono i venerdì di flamenco durante tutto l'anno, il concorso di danza Alegrías de Cadiz, il concorso di Tangillo... e molte altre attività.
Questo club di flamenco ha reso famoso il nome di La Perla de Cádiz, che ha debuttato nel 1960 al Tablao Zambra di Madrid . Da allora ha lavorato sui più importanti palcoscenici del flamenco a Madrid e Siviglia e ha vinto il primo premio al Certamen de Cantes di Cadice.
