La città alta sulla riva sinistra dell'Ouvèze ha le sue origini nel XIII secolo. Nel Medioevo, gli abitanti costruivano le loro case all'ombra del castello. Cercavano una protezione contro le invasioni e i saccheggi. È davvero gratificante salire per le stradine acciottolate fino alle rovine del castello e della chiesa in cima.
Scendendo, ora costeggiamo il molo del Maresciallo Foch, la strada asfaltata su questa riva dell'Ouvèze in direzione di Malaucène. Poi seguiamo la strada principale verso Malaucène per un piccolo chilometro fino all'incrocio del Crestet.
