La ciudad alta en la orilla izquierda del Ouvèze tiene sus orígenes en el siglo XIII. En la Edad Media, los habitantes construían sus casas a la sombra del castillo. Buscaban protección contra las invasiones y los saqueos. Realmente vale la pena subir por las calles empedradas hasta las ruinas del castillo y de la iglesia en la cima.
Al bajar, ahora seguimos el muelle del Maréchal Foch, la carretera asfaltada en esta orilla del Ouvèze en dirección a Malaucène. Luego seguimos la carretera principal hacia Malaucène durante aproximadamente un kilómetro hasta el cruce de Crestet.
