De bovenstad op de linkeroever van de Ouvèze heeft haar oorsprong in de 13de eeuw. In de middeleeuwen bouwden de bewoners hun huizen in de beschutting van de burcht. Ze zochten er bescherming tegen de invasies en plunderingen. Het loont echt te moeite om langs de kasseisteegjes omhoog te klauteren naar de ruïnes van het kasteel en de kerk op de top.
Terug beneden rijden we nu langs de Quai du Maréchal Foch, de asfaltweg op deze oever van de Ouvèze in de richting van Malaucène. Daarna volgen we de hoofdweg naar Malaucène voor een kleine kilomter tot aan het kruispunt naar Le Crestet.
