LA BATTERIA DI LEFFRINCKOUCKE
Questo edificio militare, i cui primi elementi risalgono al 1778, fu potenziato dalla Marina nel 1879. Una struttura del sistema Séré de Rivières, completamente costruita in mattoni gialli, era la batteria di Leffrinckoucke, conosciuta anche come la batteria Orientale o Zuydcoote, responsabile della difesa del passaggio marittimo. Durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, gli occupanti tedeschi rafforzarono la posizione e la integrarono nell'Atlantikwall.
