Con un'altitudine di 1364 metri, l'Hohneck è la terza montagna più alta dei Vosgi in Francia dopo il Grand Ballon e lo Storkenkopf. Si trova al confine tra i dipartimenti dell'Haut-Rhin e dei Vosgi. Il GR5 attraversa la cima.
Sulla montagna c'è un rifugio con ristorante e negozio.
