Il Fort de la Pompelle, noto anche come Fort Herbillon, è uno dei numerosi forti costruiti attorno a Reims dopo il 1870 come parte di una cintura di fortificazione nel sistema di Séré de Rivières. I forti furono coinvolti in combattimenti durante la Prima Guerra Mondiale nella difesa di Reims. Il forte si trova a circa 2 chilometri a nord della città di Sillery, accanto alla strada N44, tra Reims e Châlons-en-Champagne. Costruito come posizione di supporto per forti più grandi e disarmato nel 1913, ha visto i combattimenti più intensi dei forti di Reims. Fu bombardato durante la guerra e rimane in uno stato di rovina.
