L'Institut du Monde Arabe, fondato nel 1987, promuove gli scambi culturali tra la Francia e il mondo arabo. Offre una serie di attività in un magnifico edificio progettato da Jean Nouvel a Parigi. Oggi l'IMA svolge un ruolo cruciale nel promuovere una migliore comprensione del mondo arabo e nel rafforzare il dialogo franco-arabo. Come think tank, riunisce diversi attori per promuovere gli scambi e la cooperazione tra le due comunità.
