Il Gardon è un fiume che attraversa in ampi meandri l'altopiano di St-Nicolas tra Russan e il ponte di St-Nicolas. Col passare del tempo, il Gardon scolpisce le più belle scogliere del canyon per costituire le gole del Gardon, nelle vicinanze di Uzès. La linea di cresta offre ovunque un punto di vista sulle gole, sulla piana e sulle Cévennes, e in particolare dal sito belvedere del Castellas.
