Una passeggiata nel cuore della città rivela fontane storiche scolpite nella pietra. Oggi decorano le strade, ma in passato fornivano acqua di sorgente agli abitanti della città. Le prime tre apparvero nel 1714, per migliorare la qualità dell'approvvigionamento idrico: la fontana St-Jean Népomucène (rue Hirschauer), la fontana St-Nabor (place de la Victoire) e la fontana Ste-Marie (angolo tra rue Poincaré e rue de l'Hôpital). Tutte e tre hanno caratteristiche simili: una vasca esagonale o ottagonale, ciascuna sormontata da una statua. Tuttavia, ognuna racconta una storia diversa?
