È probabile che il villaggio di Potensac sia nato intorno a questa sorgente zampillante, un fenomeno raro nel Médoc. In un documento del XIX secolo si legge che il suo flusso complica la vita degli abitanti e degli utenti della strada per Lesparre. Sul lato, uno sbarramento in pietra assicura il flusso della fontana in una vasca di cemento a due scomparti. Una volta riempito il primo scomparto, l'acqua confluisce nel secondo, poi trabocca nel canale di scolo, passa sotto la strada di Lesparre e scorre attraverso piccoli fossati comunali per unirsi alle paludi di Reysson e della Gironda attraverso la fontana di Aubiers.
È un vero e proprio luogo di vita del villaggio.
