Con i suoi alambicchi del XIX secolo ancora in funzione, la distilleria del Centro svela alcuni dei suoi antichi segreti!
Nel cuore di una distilleria tradizionale fondata nel 1789, il museo testimonia le 48 distillerie che esistevano a Limoges nel 1900.
Per quasi due secoli, Limoges è stata la città delle distillerie. Importante centro commerciale, riceveva cognac, armagnac, rum, vini liquorosi, zucchero di canna, frutta, piante e spezie, tutti elementi essenziali per la produzione di molte specialità. Grazie all'abbondanza di querce per la produzione di botti, all'acqua pura e saporita e a una manodopera esperta e creativa, Limoges vide svilupparsi e prosperare una nuova attività accanto alla porcellana. Tra il 1780 e il 1930, a Limoges c'erano diverse decine di distillerie.
