In questo museo si nascondono mille e una scoperta. Cronologicamente: dalle sepolture a cremazione principesche del tumulo di Halstatte a Ste-Geneviève-des-Bois al cimitero celtico di La Tène I della seconda età del ferro a Cortrat; dalle monete ed ex voto gallo-romani alle tombe barbariche della fine del IV secolo. Un salto nella storia ci porta poi al XVI secolo, fino alla revoca dell'Editto di Nantes, con la Riforma e la famiglia Coligny, e il suo famoso collegio riformato. Infine, si tornerà all'epoca moderna con la storia della famiglia Montmorency-Luxembourg e la saga dei Becquerel, tra cui l'illustre Henri, responsabile della scoperta della radioattività naturale nel 1896.
