L'associazione Transversales, creata nel 1996, è impegnata in una politica di sostegno agli artisti e di costruzione di strumenti (approcci, progetti) per avvicinare il lavoro creativo, le pratiche artistiche e la cultura alle popolazioni locali. Con l'aiuto di numerosi partner e la volontà di costruire un vero e proprio servizio pubblico culturale locale coinvolto nella creazione, a Verdun come nelle regioni rurali del centro e del nord della Mosa, Transversales organizza una stagione multidisciplinare (circo, teatro, musica classica e world music), organizza laboratori per operatori amatoriali e crea una rete culturale che consente di realizzare tournée nelle regioni rurali.
