Sapevate che la città di Magenta, vicino a Epernay, ha una storia strettamente legata a quella delle ferrovie? Un tempo ospitava le officine di Epernay della SNCF, che costruivano e manutentavano locomotive a vapore e revisionavano locomotive diesel ed elettriche.
La BB 16678 è una delle 16500 locomotive prodotte tra gli anni '50 e '60, in grado di trainare treni passeggeri a una velocità di 140 km/h e treni merci a 100 km/h. Una rivoluzione per l'epoca!
Si tratta di una locomotiva emblematica proveniente dalle officine SNCF di Epernay, che ha voluto riportarla al suo antico splendore. Attualmente in fase di restauro, la BB 16678 si è spenta nel maggio 2010 dopo 48 anni di servizio e 5.773.108 chilometri percorsi! Prossimamente a Magenta.
