Anche se sembra una base per il tempo libero, il lago di Groléjac, al di fuori dei periodi di vacanza, può rivelare delle belle sorprese. I bassi livelli d'acqua in primavera rivelano le distese di fango dove si possono incontrare piovanelli, piovanelli e beccafichi, oltre a aironi bianchi maggiori e vari aironi. Il Mouline sfocia nella coda del lago, formando una piccola palude boscosa dove è stato allestito un sentiero interpretativo su palafitte per scoprirlo. Soprattutto in inverno, qui si possono trovare il binario d'acqua, il beccaccino comune, il tarabusino e il tarabusino. In primavera si assiste a un concerto di usignoli, gorgheggi e rigogoli, mentre in alto è attivo il falco lodolaio.
