La Dordogna serpeggia lungo le colline calcaree, formando ampi meandri chiamati "cingoli". Già ampie all'altezza di Lalinde, isole di rypisylve punteggiano il corso dell'acqua e gli alberi morti accolgono il falco pescatore in migrazione.
Risalendo la corrente, la diga di Mauzac sarà interessante in inverno e durante la migrazione. Qui sono state notate molte specie degne di nota: sterna del Caspio, stormi di uccelli, merluzzi comuni, occhiate dorate, svassi dal collo rosso, ecc. Sono presenti anche le sterne.
Risalendo il cingolo, questa volta sulla riva destra, si possono scrutare le falesie che si affacciano sul meandro alla ricerca del falco pellegrino o del corvo maggiore all'altezza del porto di Mauzac, del mulino di Traly e presso gli accessi al fiume.
