Situato nella valle della Mosa, a 20 km a nord-ovest di Verdun, il cimitero tedesco di Consenvoye ospita 1.148 soldati, il che lo rende il più grande cimitero tedesco. Nel 1920, le autorità francesi decisero di riunire qui i soldati tedeschi morti nei combattimenti tra Verdun e Stenay durante la Prima Guerra Mondiale.
Qui, il 22 settembre 1984, il cancelliere tedesco Helmut Kohl e il presidente francese François Mitterrand hanno reso omaggio insieme. Nel 2016, François Hollande e Angela Merkel visiteranno insieme il cimitero.
