"Qui giacciono tre infermiere dell'FFI torturate dai tedeschi al castello di Saulles per essersi rifiutate di tradire il maquis di Bussières - Morti per la Francia - 12 settembre 1944 - Pregate per loro".
La sera dell'11 settembre, un gruppo di soldati tedeschi fece irruzione nel castello di Saulles (Haute-Marne), un villaggio vicino a Bussières-les-Belmont, e torturò e giustiziò le tre infermiere del centro di pronto soccorso che si erano unite alle FFI il giorno precedente.
