Il castello non è visitabile, ma la sua storia è svelata da una mostra dedicata a Papa Urbano V, aperta dal 14 luglio al 31 agosto in un annesso dell'edificio.
Tra queste mura nacque Guillaume Grimoard nel 1309, prima di diventare Papa con il nome di Urbano V. L'edificio medievale, eretto nel XIV secolo e ampliato nel XV, porta ancora l'impronta dell'infanzia di questo personaggio storico.
L'edificio fu abbandonato alla fine del XV secolo e da allora la tenuta ha avuto diverse vite:
Dal XVII al XIX secolo: importanti modifiche architettoniche. 1
XIX secolo: trasformata in fattoria e scuola locale.
Oggi il complesso rettangolare comprende una torre di guardia, un edificio centrale ed ex edifici agricoli. Passeggiando per il parco, si possono ancora vedere i resti dei sistemi difensivi che proteggevano il castello.
L'attuale proprietario del castello ha restaurato le antiche rovine e riportato in vita la residenza.
