Vireux-Wallerand è un pittoresco comune che occupa una posizione privilegiata nella Valle della Mosa. Il comune di Vireux-Wallerand è diventato francese poco più di tre secoli fa, per l'esattezza nel 1678, e prima era terra di Lussemburgo. Dai conti di Lussemburgo, re di Boemia, gli abitanti di Vireux-Wallerand furono chiamati "Bohemians" e poi "Boïamons", da cui il nome dato oggi agli abitanti di questo comune, ovvero "Les Bayamonts": Vireux-Wallerand vanta un patrimonio architettonico che merita una visita: La chiesa di Saint-Georges, ma anche il castello situato sulle rive della Mosa in un parco e risalente al 1714, poi il castello di Risdoux, risalente al XVIII secolo e oggi ristrutturato da privati in un hotel.
