La casa rinascimentale, un monumento notevole qui a Kaysersberg, fu costruita dal fabbro Herzer nel 1492, che visse qui per tutta la vita. Sul bordo della grande finestra è visibile un'iscrizione in tedesco. Restaurato nel 1907, è stato per 65 anni sede del museo della città di Kaysersberg.
