Un incendio distrusse il granaio di un contadino. Disperato, fece un patto con Satana: l'edificio sarebbe stato ricostruito prima dell'alba in cambio della sua anima. In preda al rimorso, il contadino confessò tutto alla moglie, che ebbe l'idea di far cantare il gallo prima dell'alba. Satana fuggì in preda al panico. Ma il giorno dopo, furioso per aver scoperto l'inganno, il diavolo gettò una delle pietre del fienile nel campo vicino... dove è rimasta fino ad oggi.
