Il Doubs cambia valle per sfociare nel Lac de Saint Point. L'escursione parte dalla stazione di Longevilles Mont d'Or, a 5,4 km
Il sentiero segue in parte il corso del Doubs e passa attraverso le Gorges du Fourperet (cluse), che il Doubs ha modellato per attraversare il Mont de la Croix. Questa gola funge da punto di attraversamento della strada dipartimentale 435 e della linea ferroviaria da Parigi a Losanna. Il sentiero segue il Doubs nella gola.
