Cherington è un villaggio e una parrocchia civile accanto al fiume Stour, a circa 3 miglia a sud-est di Shipston-on-Stour. Cherington è contiguo al villaggio di Stourton.
La chiesa parrocchiale della Chiesa d'Inghilterra di San Giovanni Battista presenta molte caratteristiche del XIII secolo, inclusi i finestroni gotici inglesi del periodo iniziale della navata e della navata nord, uno dei finestri a sud della navata, l'arcata di due campate tra la navata e la navata nord e i livelli inferiori del campanile. All'estremità orientale della navata nord, in un apertura nel muro tra la navata e la navata, si trova l'effigie di un uomo in abiti civili risalente al 1320, ritenuto un Franklin. I livelli superiori della torre sono del XV secolo, così come il cleristorio gotico perpendicolare e il tetto attuale della navata. Una grande finestra nella parete sud della navata è anch'essa gotica perpendicolare.
