Peaslake, Hoe e Colman's Hill si trovano nel centro dell'AONB delle Surrey Hills e nel centro-ovest del Greensand Ridge, a circa 5 miglia a ESE della città principale di Guildford. Circondate da colline boscose di pini e altre foreste di conifere più dense, le tre località unite hanno un piccolo nucleo a Peaslake stesso con i servizi di un villaggio, ma sono altrimenti insediamenti leggermente sparsi a un'altitudine superiore a quella del centro di Shere, la parrocchia civile.
L'area indicata dal censimento del 2011 copre 302 ettari. Friends of the Hurtwood gestisce e taglia 3.000 acri di foresta circostante, l'Hurtwood, che comprende: Holmbury Hill, Pitch Hill, Winterfold, Shere Heath, Farley Heath e parte di Blackheath Common. Si trova nella parrocchia civile di Shere.
