Sphaeria o Sphairia, successivamente chiamata Hiera, è un'ex isola dell'antica Argolide descritta da Pausania come nelle immediate vicinanze di Calaureia, e separata dalla terraferma da uno stretto così stretto e poco profondo che c'era un passaggio sopra di esso a piedi.
Pausania scrisse che sull'isola c'era la tomba di Sphaerus, che era un auriga di Pelops. Inoltre, scrisse che secondo la leggenda Aethra vide Athena in un sogno, e Athena le disse di andare sull'isola per offrire sacrifici a Sphaerus. Aethra andò sull'isola e Poseidone ebbe rapporti con lei lì. Per questo motivo Aethra eresse un tempio di Athena Apaturia sull'isola. A causa di ciò, il nome dell'isola cambiò in Isola Sacra. Inoltre, stabilì anche un'usanza per le fanciulle troizeniane di dedicare le loro cinture prima del matrimonio ad Athena Apaturia.
