Mountcharles è un villaggio e una terra nella parte sud della contea di Donegal, Irlanda. Si trova a 6 km da Donegal Town sulla strada per Killybegs. È situato nella parrocchia civile di Inver e nel baronato storico di Banagh. Il nome del villaggio viene solitamente pronunciato localmente come 'Mount-char-liss'.
Prima della Piantagione dell'Ulster, l'area dall'attuale N56 fino al mare, inclusa l'attuale Salthill, era conosciuta come Tamhnach an tSalainn.
