Cavour è situata all'inizio della Valle Po, non lontana dalla sorgente del fiume, e si trova proprio sul confine tra la città metropolitana di Torino e la provincia di Cuneo.
La sua caratteristica principale è quella di essere ai piedi di una singolare conformazione rocciosa che si eleva per soli 162 metri sulla pianura circostante, la Rocca, tutelata come Riserva Naturale Speciale per le sue caratteristiche archeologiche, storiche e naturalistiche e sulla cui vetta si gode un incomparabile panorama.
