Tortona è un comune italiano di 26 559 abitanti della provincia di Alessandria in Piemonte, situato sulla sponda destra dello Scrivia, tra la pianura di Marengo e le estreme propaggini collinari dell'Appennino ligure, non lontano dal confine con la Lombardia. Comune principale della regione del Tortonese, a cui dà il nome, Tortona è uno dei centri-zona della Provincia di Alessandria in quanto sede dell'ospedale, del polo scolastico superiore e di altri servizi per i cittadini.
