Spilimbergo è un comune italiano di 11 861 abitanti del Friuli-Venezia Giulia, sulla sponda destra del Tagliamento.
La storia di Spilimbergo inizia attorno all'XI secolo, quando i conti Spengenberg, originari della Carinzia, si trapiantarono nella zona in qualità di vassalli del patriarca di Aquileia. Dal castrum de Spengenberg, come fu detto il loro castello, derivò il nome del paese.
