La battaglia di Alessandria o battaglia di Castellazzo del 25 luglio del 1391 è stata una delle battaglie delle guerre fiorentino-milanesi nel contesto delle guerre tra guelfi e ghibellini.
Nel 1387 si alleò con il signore di Padova, Francesco Novello da Carrara, che a quel tempo era in guerra contro Antonio della Scala. Gian Galeazzo Visconti intervenne a condizione di riservarsi il conseguente dominio della città di Verona e Francesco il controllo su Vicenza. Tuttavia Gian Galeazzo, approfittando dell'occasione, andò a spodestare i due, tradendo così l'alleanza stabilita e iniziò una serie di ostilità tra i due ex alleati. Il signore di Milano rispose creando una lega in cui entrarono le più importanti città del Veneto e con le campagne militari successive riuscì ad occupare Padova, Belluno e Feltre, cedendo Treviso alla Repubblica di Venezia. Gian Galeazzo Visconti divenne il più importante sovrano del nord della penisola italiana.
