La diocesi di Pistoia è una sede della Chiesa cattolica in Italia suffraganea dell'arcidiocesi di Firenze appartenente alla regione ecclesiastica Toscana. Nel 2016 contava 217.600 battezzati su 222.130 abitanti. È retta dal vescovo Fausto Tardelli.
In base ad un accordo tra i vescovi di Pistoia e di Prato, dal 1990 la cura pastorale della parrocchia di Fossato nel comune di Cantagallo, pur facendo parte della sede pratese, è concessa ai vescovi pistoiesi.
