La spiaggia di Capocotta è la zona di litorale romano compresa tra Castel Porziano e Torvaianica , uno dei tratti di dune meglio conservati d'Italia.
Estesa per 45 ettari, dal 1996 fa parte della Riserva naturale statale Litorale Romano.
La tenuta di Capocotta, probabilmente già nota in passato con il nome di Capocorso, emerge per la prima volta come unità autonoma nel XV secolo, quando risulta di proprietà di Camillo Capranica. Passò poi durante il XVII secolo ai Borghese; secondo il Catasto Annonario del 1803, aveva una superficie di circa 760 ettari. Agli inizi del XX secolo, divenne proprietà privata della Casa reale, che intendeva così ingrandire l'adiacente Tenuta di Castelporziano, in uso alla famiglia regnante ma di proprietà dello stato italiano.
