Il tempio fu edificato nel 1643 dal sacerdote Francesco Galasso con il titolo di "Sant'Isidoro".
Il 18 maggio 1667 venne assegnata al personale dei fornai dal canonico Girolamo Pavano, da allora il luogo di culto venne chiamato Chiesa di Sant'Isidoro dei Fornai.
L'edificio presenta sul lato est una semplice facciata intonacata.
