La cattedrale di Santa Maria Madre di Dio di Vilnius, è la chiesa madre della chiesa ortodossa russa in Lituania e sede dell'eparchia di Vilnius e Lituania.
La prima chiesa fu costruita da architetti ucraini nel 1346 durante il regno del Granduca di Lituania Algirdas. Cinquanta anni dopo, nel 1495, in questa chiesa avvenne luogo il matrimonio di Elena Ioanovna, figlia di Ivan III di Russia, con il granduca Alessandro Jagellone. La Granduchessa Elena fu sepolta in seguito nella cattedrale nel 1513. Il paese viene poi convertito al chiesa cattolica e la chiesa sopravvisse sotto la protezione dei prìncipi Ostrogski.
