Colijnsplaat è il porto di casa della flotta di pescatori di Veere, e c'è un porto turistico con circa 500 posti barca.
Nei pressi di Colijnsplaat si trovava una colonia chiamata Ganuenta. Qui si trovava un tempio dedicato alla dea Nehalennia. Nel 1970 sono stati recuperati nei pressi di Colijnsplaat parti di un altare dedicato a Nehalennia. All'inizio del XXI secolo è stato ricostruito un tempio gallo-romano.
