Grootegast è un paese nel comune di Westerkwartier nella provincia di Groninga nei Paesi Bassi. Il paese è stato fino al 2018 il capoluogo del comune omonimo di Grootegast. Il paese ha 3.350 abitanti. Il paese è nato intorno all'anno 1000 ed è stato profiliato a partire dal 1400 come controparte di Lutjegast. Il paese contiene una chiesa del XVII secolo, la cosiddetta Witte Kerkje. Questa chiesetta è stata restaurata nel 1829.
