Grootegast ist ein Dorf in der Gemeinde Westerkwartier in der Provinz Groningen in den Niederlanden. Das Dorf war bis 2018 der Hauptort der gleichnamigen Gemeinde Grootegast. Das Dorf hat 3.350 Einwohner. Es entstand um das Jahr 1000 und wurde ab 1400 als Gegenstück zu Lutjegast profiliert. Das Dorf enthält eine Kirche aus dem 17. Jahrhundert, das sogenannte Witte Kerkje. Diese Kirche wurde 1829 restauriert.
