Si trova a sud-ovest di Witmarsum, a nord-ovest di Longerhouw e a sud-est di Wons. Il nucleo del villaggio si trova lungo il canale Schraardervaart a sud dell'A7. Nel 2021 il villaggio contava 150 abitanti. Il villaggio è nato su un terp, non lontano dall'antico Marneslenk. L'abitato non segue completamente la struttura del terp, che ha una struttura regolare e radiale. Così, la chiesa più antica del villaggio, diversamente dalla maggior parte degli altri terp, non è stata costruita sulla cima del terp ma sul bordo sud-occidentale.
