La Appeldijk forma un lungo nastro lungo il fiume Linge con da entrambi i lati alberi di melo ad alto fusto. Poiché gli alberi si trovano leggermente più in basso sul pendio della diga, i fiori sono all'altezza degli occhi. Sotto gli alberi si trova una ricchezza di erba delle pive, rendendo qui un grande mare di fiori. Alla base della diga ci sono salici inondati pieni di pioppi salicati. Lungo tutta la diga sei accompagnato da un vivace coro di uccelli.
