Una chiesa medievale fatiscente dedicata a Pietro fu sostituita nel 1822. Questa chiesa fu colpita da un fulmine il 14 ottobre 1843 e andò distrutta. Il 26 luglio 1845, Hendrik Bonifacius van der Haer, grietman di Barradeel, posò la prima pietra per la nuova chiesa della comunità riformata. La chiesa a navata neoclassicista con coro chiuso su tre lati fu costruita secondo il progetto di Thomas Adrianus Romein. Il 2 luglio 1878 fu posata la prima pietra per il nuovo campanile. Il campanile a tre livelli con pinnacolo a bulbo ha elementi neogotici. La campana requisita dai tedeschi nel 1943 fu sostituita nel 1949 con una campana della fonderia Van Bergen. Gli interni sono coperti da una volta in legno stuccata. L'edificio della chiesa è un monumento nazionale.
