La stazione Woudenberg-Scherpenzeel si trovava sulla linea ferroviaria Kesteren - Amersfoort. Contestualmente all'apertura di questa linea il 18 febbraio 1886, la stazione fu inaugurata per il trasporto di passeggeri e merci.
La stazione si trovava proprio al confine tra i comuni di Woudenberg e Scherpenzeel, ma ciò la rendeva comunque lontana dai centri di entrambi i comuni. La stazione si trovava quindi in 2 province, Utrecht e Gelderland. A sud, vicino al passaggio a livello, era stato costruito un magazzino merci. Successivamente furono costruiti ulteriori magazzini. Nel 1922 l'area di svincolo fu modificata in relazione alla costruzione del doppio binario tra Amersfoort e Woudenberg-Scherpenzeel.
