Nascosto tra le paludi e il Vliet si trova il ex Forte Henricus. Dal 1627 il Forte Henricus a Steenbergen ha protetto il porto e la chiusa, ponendo così fine agli assedi di questa città. Il Forte Henricus poteva ospitare ben 450 soldati e garantì che Steenbergen fosse una fortezza inespugnabile. Con 11,5 ettari, questo forte era uno dei più grandi nel sud-ovest della Repubblica dei Paesi Bassi. E puoi scoprirlo tu stesso!
